BADAS BREWERY!

An exploration of beer!

  • Brew Day 1.16.12: MLK IBA

Exactly a year ago today we brewed what we thought was our finest effort up to that point. Unplanned and coincidentally, Martin Luther King Day 2011 provided a nice laid back day off for us to whip up a Chinook hop heavy IPA. Although we were still in our extract brewing phase, we had refined our system and process enough that we felt good about this batch. Long story short, we were proud of what we produced, even if there were some off flavors here and there.

Fast forward 365 days and today marks the second annual MLK brew day. So much has changed and the brewery has amazingly grown. This time we decided to change gears a bit and make a lighter bodied, slightly hoppier brown ale. Using some of our new equipment via the big guy who resides at the North Pole, BADAS is yet again reinventing it’s own game and brewing quality all-grain beer.

With our new kegging system in place, we’re hoping to carbonate and drink this baby in roughly two weeks (hopefully less!). Hoppy Martin Luther King Day everyone!
